Employee Benefits

Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment is November 1-30. This is your once-a-year opportunity to make changes to your benefits. For example, you can:

  • Change medical and dental plans
  • Add dependents or remove them from your coverage

The changes you make will be effective January 1st through December 31st.

If you’re satisfied with your current benefit elections and want to keep them for next year, you don’t have to enroll. The one exception in the Districts Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA plan), to continue participating in this plan, you will need to re-enroll.

Visit the Risk Management webpage on lbschools.net for benefits information.

Retirement Plans

LBUSD employees have two supplemental retirement plans that contributions can go into at the same time!

Contributions can go into a 403(b) plan AND a 457(b) plan.
SchoolsFirst is the administrator for the 403(b) plan. Employees still need a financial advisor to help them with investment company selection and investments.
LBUSD Payroll Department is the administrator for the 457(b) plan. Click here for the 457 booklet and enrollment documents pertaining to the 457(b) plan.
